Although COVID-19 is known to cause pneumonia, damage to other organs such as the heart, kidneys, and liver have been reported in published clinical studies. Multiple studies indicated that COVID-19 may have a long-term effect on some but not all patients with other health conditions. The challenging question is “how could we identify those who are at a higher risk after being infected with COVID-19 to provide special care before their situation deteriorates?”. In addition, ability to identify those patients might also help reduce health costs with early intervention on these patients. This project investigates these issues using machine learning algorithms aiming to predict such issues in patients in the UAE.
